Obituary for Raymond "Ray" Pedneault Sr.

It is with heavy hearts our family announces the sudden passing of Raymond (Ray) Pedneault Sr. while spending time in Mexico; his home away from home on Saturday March 2nd, 2019 at the age of 77 years. Loving husband of Helene (née Turgeon), Ray’s true love and centre of his world for 54 years. Proud father of sons Ray Jr. (Lorna) and Marc (Michelle). He also leaves behind his brother Ron (Beatrice). Proud grandfather of Alexi, Max and step-grandfather of Cameron and Madeleine. Predeceased by his sister, Rachelle Shaw and parents Oza and Emma (née Thibault). He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and lifelong friends made while working and traveling. Ray was born on the West Arm of Lake Nipissing, where he lived his entire life. Ray, Ron and their wives were the third generation of Pedneault owners of West Arm Lodge. Ray formed countless friendships over the years guiding families around the lake sharing his wisdom and enthusiasm for the outdoors. Ray also owned an outpost camp and after earning his pilot’s license, fulfilling a passion for flying by transporting groups into the camp to enjoy Northern Ontario living. Ray, Helen and the family enjoyed his little slice of heaven and he will be missed at the campfire. Together, Ray and Helen loved to spend time in the kitchen experimenting with recipes to share with family and friends during gatherings at their West Arm home. Ray had a special ability to make friends everywhere and engage any generation. Ray was a continuous learner and was eager to share his knowledge and life experiences with his cherished grandchildren. The family wishes to thank all those who comforted and assisted his beloved wife Helen while in Mexico. And to the further honour of Ray, enjoy a delicious meal with family and friends often to share laughs and memories. A celebration of Ray’s life will be held on Saturday March 23, 2019 at the St-Charles Community Centre , 40 Casimir Road, St-Charles, Ontario from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.. Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. at St-Charles Borromee Church, 31 Main Street, St-Charles, Ontario to be followed by a reception for relatives and friends.
