The family announces with sorrow his unexpected death in Sturgeon Falls, Saturday September 8th, 2018 at the age of 17 years. Beloved son of Mandy St-Georges (Henry) and Denis Philion of Sturgeon Falls. Survived by his brothers Isaac Carswell, Kayden, Colton and Hunter Philion and Guy-Michel Lachance as well as his sisters Shannel St-Georges-Fehr, Oceanne, Manon and Olivia Philion. Gabriel was known to his siblings as Gabby-Doo. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his Mammie Merissa Lachapelle (late Marcel Lachapelle), friend Denis Ratelle, grandmother Cozette Philion of Sturgeon Falls, Leo-Paul Roy (Thérèse) of Hanmer, Mario St-Georges of Sturgeon Falls and step-grandmother Maria Klasnen of Wheatley. Also survived by his great-grandmother Rolande Carswell of Field.
Gabriel was the hero to his cousins Zachary, Ethen, Destiny, Karter and Tyrell. Proud nephew of Michelle (TiTi) St-Georges and Sandy (Didi) St-Georges, Eric-Michel and Patrick St-Georges, Uncle Machine, Anne (late Ben Miron), Christine Philion, his step aunt Darcy Lachapelle and step uncle Rusty Lachapelle (Kendra) as well as many great aunts, uncles and cousins. He will also be missed by his many close friends.
Gabriel has touched a lot of people during his short time on earth. He was known for his warm smile and for his capacity to put other’s needs before his own. His struggles took the best of him, he tried to overcome his many trials but eventually lost his battle.
The family will receive friends at the Theoret Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls, Thursday September 13th, 2018 from 7 to 9 pm and Friday September 14th, 2018 after 9 am. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Sturgeon Falls, Friday September 14th at 11 am.
