Obituary for Jennifer Lynn Moon Labelle (née Moon)

Jennifer Lynn Moon Labelle (née Moon)
Moon Labelle, Jennifer Lynn (nee Moon)

(July 9 1962 - July 13 2018)

With very heavy hearts and great sadness, the Labelle and Moon families announce Jennifer’s peaceful passing in her 57th year at Hanover and District Hospital. Beloved wife of Gilles Labelle and much loved mother of Dr. Marc Labelle, both of Hanover, formerly of North Bay.

The Moon family includes mother Sherly Moon of Stoney Creek (Douglas 1991), brothers Greg (Ginny) of Binbrook, John (Marilyn) of Englehart, and sister Pamela Gascon (Jerry) of Kitchener.

The Labelle family includes mother-in-law Colette Labelle of North Bay (Jean-Guy 1996) and brothers/sisters-in-law Sandra Beaupre (Pierre) of Rockland, Denis (Joanne), Yollande Bertrand (Alec), Lise Allen (Bob), Michel (Estelle), Monique St. Jacques (Marc), and Sylvie Robineau (Michel 2013) all of Sturgeon Falls, Anne Martel (Paul) of North Bay and Jean of Sterling.

Jennifer will be sadly missed by many nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews, cousins and friends.

Born and raised in Sturgeon Falls, Jennifer was an Associate member of North Bay’s Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 23, and, an avid genealogist. The genealogy work mapped and documented the Moon and Baker families through four continents over several hundred years, leading to personal visits to England and Australia to meet distant relatives who appreciated her work. The Australia visit provided son Marc with the opportunity to swim with grouper on the Great Barrier Reef.

In keeping with Jennifer’s wishes, there will neither be a visitation nor a funeral service, and, cremation has occurred.

Interment will be at Union Cemetery, Sturgeon Falls at a later date.

A celebration of Jennifer’s life will take place September 15, 2018, from 11:00 - 2:00, at the Royal Canadian Legion, 201 River St., Sturgeon Falls.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (hsf.donorportal.ca) would be appreciated.
