Obituary for Francis "Frank" Lalonde

Francis "Frank" Lalonde
Lalonde, Francis (Frank) 1932-2017
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Francis (Frank) Lalonde announce his passing surrounded by family on Wednesday October 25th, 2017 at the age of 85. Survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Pauline (née Leblanc) and children Susan (Peter) of Celista B.C., Robert (Lorraine) of Sturgeon Falls, Anne Marie (Barry) of Timmins, Debbie of Mattawa and Michael (Jennie) of Verner. Also survived by one sister Theresa Ayres. Predeceased by parents Loretta and Henry Lalonde, brothers Charlie Lalonde, Fred Larocque, sisters Clarabelle Renaud, Alice Mammoletti and daughter Barbara. Frank will be lovingly remembered by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Dad lived a full, rich and adventurous life. Rarely a day went by that he wouldn’t be found puttering in his shop, challenging himself with jobs and always scheming of ways to get things done. Dad loved children and animals and usually had a funny name for both. “Wee bad boy” was a common phrase used for his chipmunks, squirrels and many other critters in his life. Our dad was an avid hunter and fisherman and the hunt camp was like a second home for him. The vegetable garden was his pride and joy keeping him busy and the rest of us well fed. Many Saturday mornings our eldest brother Bob would chauffeur Dad to “Hortons” to share many stories and plenty of laughs with his coffee buddies. Winter was Dad’s least favorite season and he and Mom perfected the role of snowbirds for eight winters even selling hotdogs on the beach in Clearwater, Florida. Above all, Dad loved his family. Our gatherings brought him quiet joy and he would sit back and take it all in. As time moves on and life unfolds and we gather together you will forever be with us. Always etched in our hearts will be those three gentle words that you always said in farewell to us and that we now say in farewell to you: “love you much”. A celebration of life is to be held at a later date in Sturgeon Falls. Cremation arrangements in care of Theoret Bourgeois funeral home, Sturgeon Falls.
