Filion, Jean-Guy (1942-2017)
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our loving father Jean-Guy Filion after a long battle with heart disease on February 19th, 2017 at the age of 74 years. Son of the late Patrick Filion and of the late Marie-Ange Filion (née Careau). Dear husband of Aline Armande Filion (née Savarie) of Sturgeon Falls. Loving father of Richard Savarie, Sue (Dan) Pilon, Carole (Jim) Colquhoun and Denis (Linda) Filion. Predeceased by his youngest son Michel. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Natalie Savarie (Brian), Lorrie Penner (Ashley), Stephanie Pilon, Nicholas Pilon (Sarah), Melissa Filion, Kaylee Savarie (Mitch), Jessica Springer (Steve), Jamie Colquhoun, Scott Savarie, as well as his great-granchildren Emma, Claire, Simone, Kieran, Koltyn, Koel, Cooper and Robbie. Survived by his sisters Fernande Francoeur, Therese Filion and his brother Julien Filion. Predeceased by his brother Emilien Filion. The family will receive friends at the Théorêt Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls on Friday February 24th 2017 from 1p.m. to 3p.m. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 3 p.m. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
