Obituary for Aimé Forest

Aimé Forest
Born on September 23rd 1925 in Lavigne Ontario, Aimé learned the trade of farming at a young age, from his parents Edmond Forest and Malvina Piette. Families were bigger back then and Aimé was well surrounded by his siblings Rolland, Anne-Marie, Rollande, Fernand, Wallace, Gérard, Claude, Étienne, Marcella, Colette and Angèle. Throughout his working years, Aimé practiced a few trades such as farming, mining and carpentry. He loved to share stories of working across Ontario especially the story of his involvement in building the Niagara Falls tower.
Always cheerful, Aimé loved people, traveling and lending a helping hand. He always dreamed of having children of his own and he was the favourite uncle of all his nephews and nieces. In 1985, his dream came true when he met his wife Thérèse Desbiens (née Courtemanche) and became father of Suzanne (Marcel Desgroseilliers), Rose-Marie (Lionel Venne), Robert (Jocelyne Dauphinais), Rachelle (Carl Gray) and Charles (Monique Lafond). Later on, he became the proud grandfather of Jason, Tanya, Brigitte, Michelle, Danielle, Karine, Mylène, Justine, Kyle, Casey, Josée, David and Kristine. Then came the great-grand-children, Dylan, Emerson, Carter, Megan, Kaylee, Dézirée, Logan, Sophie, Jaxon, Della and Sadie and even great-great grand-son Blake.
For over 45 years, his biggest passions were his wood lot and his sugar shack in Badgerow. He was truly happy when he was clearing the land, cutting firewood and boiling his maple syrup. One would not be surprised to hear stories of poaching a few deer and moose who would wander in his sights…. even a few grass-snakes. In his younger days, he didn’t mind having a beer and playing his guitar or his mandolin after a long day’s work. Aimé liked a good party but nothing pleased him more than being surrounded by his family while spending time on his land. Family was of the utmost importance to him, and this was obvious through his participation in the numerous Forest family reunions. When the 100th year celebration of Forest presence in Lavigne was held on the Forest ancestral farm, Aimé gave every participant a bottle of maple syrup. He even travelled to New Brunswick and Louisiana to participate in the Forest families of North America reunions.
Aimé Forest was called back to his ancestors on Friday November 13th, 2015.
Aimé, we will miss you very much. Thank you for bringing us happiness and building wonderful memories with us. Your amazing character always brought us joy. We know that those who preceded you are happy to receive you in the heavens. We will see you again on your big wood lot, up there, where you will be waiting for us.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Notre Dame de la Visitation church in Lavigne ON, Saturday November 21, 2015 at 10:15 am. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 am. Donations to Au Château Home for the Aged would be appreciated (cheques only). Arrangements in care of Théorêt Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls.
